Thank you Shawn for the kind words. It wasn't a complete disaster, I managed to recover most things. And this whole thing led me to redesign the site, for better. So a little silver lining there :)

Sorry this happened to you. It's so frustrating. I just wanted to thank you for your informative post. I'll be taking your advice to heart - especially since I came to your site via the showcase for the theme you are using.

Thanks for the links. I'll be reading them as soon as I get a chance.

Blessings, Shawn

I would like to thank both Niko and Savnac here. Not only this blog is very helpful, but Savnac´s questions also help me finding the answers to some of my own (or questions I am still to have because I´m new to modeling and can´t model many things yet). The links to external tutorials also help me a lot.

Thank you, I´ll keep reading the blog and studying as much as I can!

I understand your problem, have been there once upon a time myself. I do plan to continue adding more free content when I can. The idea is to share the core methods for free.

The value of the big non-free tutorials, considering the method is no secret, is in longer explanation with samples and application of the technique on a real project.. and of course all the other topics the tutorials cover. There's the beef and a great amount of work put in - which is why the big tutorials will not be free.

Thank you Zorrer. I get all warm am fuzzy feeling from reply like yours :) Really it is my pleasure. Sharing knowledge has brought only good things to me, so it is Give and You Shall Receive-kind of thing we have here.

Yes, definitely study the wireframes of professionals. Taron comes to mind first. For others I would need to dig up my old references from somewhere. Instead I recommend you browse and search for wireframes and topology references at Polycount-forum, CGsociety forum Modeling-section and elsewhere, just google the key words.

Your English is very good, by the way.

I agree with Savnac here, but if you can, please, keep your tutorials for free. I can´t pay for those things (at least not yet), which is why I can´t buy any books/DVDs. I don´t want to cry wolf or sound like a poor guy or anything, but I really can´t pay. I would be glad to pay for your help if I could, though.

However, if you ever make non-free tutorials, I´ll understand. And I will still be grateful to you for all the things I´m learning here.

It´s great that I found this blog. Thanks a lot.

Thank you very, very much for all the knowledge you are sharing with us - and for free! As a self taught wannabe CG artist, I must say it´s hard to find a place like this, in which someone teaches the actual theory of why some things work better than others, and it´s even harder to find this information for free.

Seriously, thank you VERY much. You´re great!

I heard somewhere that one of the best things that us begginners can do regarding edgeloops is to analyze the models of experienced artists in wireframe. I got the ones from your Files page. Is there any other source/artist you recommend?

P.S.: Yes, the link you provided is in Portuguese. That´s my native language (which explains why this post may have some grammar errors).
